As the distribution of the load changes, affecting the balance and stability of the ship,\u00a0 it is necessary to monitor the balance to take counter measures. Such counter measure could be to flood or emptying out the sea water ballast tanks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The challenge:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Measurement in corrosive media (salt water)<\/li>\n<li>High repeatability in low measuring ranges<\/li>\n<li>Precise measurement to conduct counter measures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Our solution:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For these applications, we offer pressure sensors or transducer modules based on the ceramic-capacitive technology. In ballast tanks the experience shows that fixed sensors are used, mounted on the tank wall as well as level probes that are permanently installed in the tank.<\/p>\n<p>The pressure sensor UTC30 has a robust ceramic membrane to withstand harsh conditions and offers different housing materials, as stainless steel 1.4404 (316L), 1.4539 (904L) or Titanium 3.7035 (e.g. for saltwater applications).<\/p>\n<p>We as Endress+Hauser Sensors&amp;Components focus our activities on partnership-based collaboration with customers.
