Customized sensor solutions for the construction industry

Construction projects today place high demands on measurement technology. From infrastructure and industrial buildings to mobile machinery, material handling and onsite automation, sensors must perform reliably under harsh conditions. Dust, vibration, pressure peaks and fluctuating temperatures are part of everyday operations in the construction industry. Reliable measurement technology is therefore a key factor in ensuring safety, efficiency and long-term system performance.

At Endress+Hauser Sensors & Components, we focus on developing customized pressure and radar sensor solutions through close collaboration with our customers. Instead of offering off-the-shelf components alone, we work hand in hand with equipment manufacturers and system integrators to address specific application requirements. This collaborative approach is particularly valuable in the construction sector, where operating conditions, regulations and technical constraints can vary significantly from project to project.

In construction-related applications, robustness, accuracy and reliability are essential. Our pressure sensors are based on a ceramic capacitive measuring principle and are designed to withstand harsh process conditions such as pressure peaks, aggressive media, and vibration. High overload resistance, excellent long-term stability and precise measurement performance ensure reliable operation in applications ranging from construction machinery and hydraulic systems to pressure and level monitoring in tanks and silos. Their modular and customizable design allows easy integration into customer specific solutions and supports safe and efficient construction processes.

A key example of our application driven approach is the Ceracore UTC30 pressure transducer. At its core is a capacitive ceramic pressure sensor specifically developed for demanding environments. In the construction industry, the UTC30 is ideally suited for applications such as pressure monitoring in hydraulic systems, level and pressure measurement in mobile or stationary tanks and silos, or pressure control in water management and material supply systems.

With its closed housing and multiple electrical connection options, the UTC30 can be easily integrated into compact machine designs. An optimized electronics design with enhanced EMC protection ensures reliable operation even in electrically challenging environments. Extended temperature ranges and the possibility to adjust pressure ranges broaden the possible fields of application, while analog and digital output options as well as MID capability, support a wide range of system requirements.

By combining robust ceramic technology, flexible modular design and partnership-based development, we help our customers implement reliable, durable and futureproof measurement solutions for the construction industry.
